On 1 August 2025, the Arbitration Act 2025 came into force, embedded as several 'A' sections in the Arbitration Act 1996. While the 1996 Act has not been subjected to a root and branch reform, a number of the new sections may have an impact on the practice of maritime arbitration in London, including those arbitrations being conducted under LMAA terms. This session will concentrate on the law applicable to the arbitration agreement, the duty of disclosure, the power of summary dismissal and emergency arbitrators.
